We Care. North Texas Cares.
Second Phase Funding Opportunity Now Open
Starting on August 11th, nonprofits who support individuals and families in the focus areas of health, economic security, safety and wellbeing, education, and social justice are invited to apply for funding through a new North Texas Cares application.
In continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 32 North Texas foundations and United Ways have come together for a second phase of North Texas Cares, a funder collaborative with a common application form. North Texas Cares initially launched in late March with 15 partners and grew quickly to more than 30 funder participants.
Participating funders review submitted applications and make individual funding decisions. Each funder allocates their own separate funds, timeline and process to evaluate and award grant applications, so one application may potentially result in grants from multiple funders. Grant amounts vary by funder and organizations will hear from a participating funder directly if their application has been selected for a grant.
The second phase North Texas Cares application opens today, August 11, 2020. Submissions will be accepted between now and October 2. As applications are submitted, they will be made available to each funder on a regular basis for their review. For more information and to apply, please visit northtexascares.org and review the FAQs prior to applying.
In order to be eligible for funding, agencies must meet the following criteria:
- Be a 501c3 organization
- Currently provide services in the North Texas area
- Provide services that align with the priority focus areas. Please review the details below.
Note: Between April and mid-July 2020, the 30+ participating funders awarded 1,400 grants totaling over $40 million to 630 area nonprofits through the first phase of the North Texas Cares application process. Regardless of whether an organization received funding in phase one, all nonprofits that meet the criteria are eligible to apply or re-apply for funding in phase two.
